What ORBIT is
ORBIT is a free 3D solar-system simulator. The Sun, the eight planets and Pluto, a representative set of moons, asteroids, and comets all run on a real timeline, paired with a full profile page for each body to help you build an intuitive sense of the solar system's structure and motion.

Open source & data sources
ORBIT's source code is public on GitHub — you're welcome to read the implementation, file an issue, or contribute. Body data mainly draws on public NASA and JPL references; the star catalogue and Milky Way panorama draw on a public bright-star catalogue and Solar System Scope assets. Each body profile lists its own sources at the bottom.
